——Description(EN)——
The blue-and-white landscape is the "Sea," the mother-of-pearl night sky is "Heaven," the amber-glazed earth is "Land." A one-of-a-kind large plate joining — by the "yobitsugi" technique — ceramic fragments born between the Edo and Taishō eras, shards that traveled the ocean to a beach, and raden (mother-of-pearl). The golden seam is not a scar to hide but a "keshiki" (view) unique to this piece. Finished in pure gold and natural urushi lacquer, with a paulownia (kiri) box and a bilingual provenance card.
・Materials: Edo–Taishō ceramic fragments, sea-found shards, raden (mother-of-pearl) / finish: pure gold & natural urushi
・Size: approx. 30 cm diameter
・Includes: paulownia box, bilingual provenance card
・For display and appreciation; not intended for food use.
